Mairéad Gethings of FHP Property Consultants has successfully achieved a 5 figure business rates saving for national home fragrance retailer Love Aroma, relating to the premises that they occupy at the Meadowhall Centre in Sheffield. The company occupy several stores nationally and FHP are retained to manage the business rates for their portfolio throughout the 2010 and 2017 Rating Lists.

Mairéad Gethings of the Business Rates Team at FHP Property Consultants said:–

“After months of tricky negotiations with the Valuation Office Agency there was still a difference of opinion over value. As a result, the appeal was then referred to the Valuation Tribunal where I provided Expert evidence and I am pleased to say that the Valuation Tribunal agreed with me and reduced the Rateable Value in line with my recommendation. I am delighted that this has resulted in a significant refund for Love Aroma”.

The Business Rates Team at FHP regularly achieve success on behalf of occupiers both based in the East Midlands and across the country. The success achieved for Love Aroma follows on reductions made by the team in respect of Shopping Centres, Fire Stations and other commercial buildings across the region.
