The 16,300 ft² mid-terrace warehouse has been sold to Samuel Grant (Midlands) Limited who have relocated their Castle Donington premises to the new warehouse.
Building 6E (2) is the last of three similar units built in a terrace by Wilson Bowden Developments which were completed in the spring of 2008.
The other two buildings have been sold and let to Windsor Foods and GAC Logistics.
Samuel Grant have been based in Castle Donington since 2004 and have been looking to relocate from their old warehouse on Station Road.
Andrew Grant of Samuel Grant (Midlands) Ltd confirmed:
“This modern high bay warehouse has allowed us to consolidate 14,000sq ft of old warehousing into about 10,000sq ft of the new building. This creates a very efficient operation with room to continue our expansion in the Midlands.
I am pleased that we have managed to re-locate without moving away from Caste Donington because the proximity of the M1 at the heart of the Midlands enables us to distribute packaging materials quickly to our customers.”
The developer has now completed more than 1 million ft² of warehouse and distribution buildings in the Castle Donington area having completed their 50 acre adjacent Willow Farm development.
At EMDC they have completed the construction of nearly 300,000 ft² of space, having recently completed an 87,000 ft² unit which is being offered on a sale / lease basis.
Stephen Pedrick-Moyle at Wilson Bowden Developments confirmed:
“Junction 24 is one of the most strategic locations within the East Midlands area as a result of the road infrastructure which exists with the M1, A42 and A50 converging in close proximity to EMDC.
As a consequence it is easy for companies to serve the East Midlands area and the UK as a whole.”
