Retail & Leisure News
We are thrilled to announce Loungers have secured planning and listed buildings consent and assigned a new 15-year lease on 62-64 Market Street, former HSBC banking branch.
Extending to approximately 2,200ft² at a ground floor level, and providing an attractive enclosed garden area to the rear, Loungers are hoping to open pre-Christmas in this being seen as a hugely important boost to the town’s leisure offer.
Doug Tweedie, Head of FHP’s Birmingham office, commented:
“Ashby-de-la-Zouch is a beautiful, affluent, Leicestershire market town and the former HSBC is a hugely important asset within the High Street.
When our landlord client first became aware that HSBC were due to close, when drawing up a target list of potential occupiers, Loungers were undoubtedly at the top of this list. The former HSBC is a beautiful, listed asset located at the heart Ashby-de-la-Zouch High Street and given the importance of the building, we knew we needed to find an occupier who could sensitively convert the space. Loungers are highly regarded when it comes to creating individual spaces and we have no doubt that between ourselves, our landlord client and our joint agent, Richard Tilbrook of Roger Etchells & Company have selected the right occupier. I cannot wait to see this one open.
I would like to extend a huge thank you to Alex Kalebic of Loungers and the agent, Andrew Jackson of CBRE and the entire team at Loungers for their tireless work in making this complex transaction happen.”
