Retail News
Acting on behalf of Aberdeen Property Investors UK Ltd, Fisher Hargreaves Proctor have let 58 Bridlesmith Gate, the former Cruise Clothing store to fashion retailer Firetrap.
Firetrap trade from 6 stand alone stores in London, Edinburgh, Belfast, Leeds, Liverpool and Sheffield, as well as numerous concessions within Selfridges and House of Fraser.
The Nottingham store has been acquired on a new 10 year lease, paying a rent of £165,000 per annum with the benefit of a 12 month rent free period.
Ben Tebbutt, Partner at FHP commented:-
“Bridlesmith Gate once again shows its quality as a location as the shop has been let to a quality fashion retailer in what is undoubtedly the most difficult market conditions we have seen over the past 20 years. Whilst it is true that there are other units available on Bridlesmith Gate, these tend to be poorly configured or too small for the majority of retail requirements. Demand is still strong for the right units.”
58 Bridlesmith Gate provides a ground floor sales area of 1,187ft² together with first floor sales of 1,101ft². Storage facilities are provided at basement, second and third floors.
Helen Smith of Aberdeen Property Investors UK Ltd commented:-
“We are delighted that FHP were able to secure Firetrap in a very short space of time following Cruise’s vacation of the building. The property is one of a number owned by pension fund clients of Aberdeen on Bridlesmith reflecting our confidence in the location.”
Ben Tebbutt added “Bridlesmith Gate is set to see some exciting changes over the next 18 months with a number of high profile operators showing strong interest in the location. Further details to follow shortly.”
Olivia Jackson at CWM acted on behalf of Firetrap.
