FHP News
Midlands property consultancy FHP is set to launch a new division of the business after the return of a former partner.
Jonathan Bishop has rejoined the award-winning firm to drive the development of a new corporate services department which will work with a range of public and private sector clients, including fire authorities, ambulance trusts and major businesses.
Bishop becomes a partner in the Nottingham-based/Derby consultancy, which he rejoins after seven years with another East Midlands commercial property firm HEB, where he was one of three equity partners.
At FHP, he will lead the development of solutions aimed at satisfying a range of property requirements among public and private sector clients looking for both conventional acquisitions and disposals and wider assessment of the best ways to unlock the potential within their estates and property portfolios.
John Proctor, one of the founding partners of FHP, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Jonathan back into the business, though we’ve never really lost touch. He built up an excellent reputation during his time with HEB and he will be able to explore new opportunities with the support of FHP.
This is a challenging market for many organisations. In the public sector, financial constraints mean local authorities and emergency services are looking to deliver more efficient and effective services. They need innovative solutions to do that, whether that is by consolidating services in strategic locations or by maximising the financial potential of property which is surplus to requirements.
Jonathan will be able to develop this new FHP department in the knowledge that he has a variety of commercial, residential and technical expertise to call on.”
Bishop works with clients including fire authorities across the Midlands and ambulance trusts. He works for a number of major private sector clients, among them leading High Street optician Specsavers, for whom he handles all the office and industrial requirements, and the food production giant Samworth Brothers.
He commented:
“I very much enjoyed my time at heb and will always be grateful for the support of Jonathan Emmerson and Matthew Hilton. However, the market which I have been focusing on is changing, and I need to be able to call on the resources of a larger consultancy to be able to satisfy their requirements going forwards.
By wielding the expertise of FHP specialists in different areas of the commercial and residential market, I can enhance the service for these public and private sector clients.
Property can be a significant asset for these organisations and they need a breadth of knowledge and expertise to properly exploit it. But they want to find that expertise in one place and that is what this new approach is about.”
