Retail News
David Hargreaves of Fisher Hargreaves Proctor, acting on behalf of ASDA, have completed the acquisition of approximately 7 acres from Heanor Haulage in Langley Mill.
The site was acquired off market on a subject to planning basis, now has consent for a store of 56,000 sq ft gross with 350 car parking spaces and a petrol filling station. ASDA are hoping to start work on this store in the spring, with the store to open for trade prior to Christmas 2010. The cost is likely to be in the region of £25 million and should employ 370 people.
David Hargreaves, who introduced the site to ASDA, confirmed that in addition to the main store there will be 4 shops of 1,300 sq ft each developed as part of the main building, one of which will be occupied by a Post Office. Architects for the project are WCEC of Chesterfield.
Fisher Hargreaves Proctor’s Derby and Nottingham Offices have been instructed by ASDA to commence marketing these units for retail or fast food purposes. Again these retail units should be available for occupation for Christmas this year.
