BULWELL BUCKS THE TREND IN BEST BIDS SITUATION

Retail News

The retail market in Bulwell remains healthy despite the economic downturn with a bidding war occurring on a prime property in Main Street being marketed by FHP Property Consultants.

The premises at 223 Main Street were available to let on a new lease following the expiry of the existing tenancy to a beauticians.

There was a strong level of interest from both the national retailers and local independents which resulted in the property being let to Marie Curie Cancer Care at a rent in excess of the asking terms on a 10 year lease with no rent free incentives.

Mark Bradley of FHP Property Consultants commented:-

“Bulwell has bucked the trend in terms of retail demand due to a combination of factors including the lack of supply of prime retail units and the demographics of the local economy which are “value” orientated with the letting to the charity shop epitomising the situation.

The letting will now assist our private investor client as this transaction can be used as evidence on the forthcoming lease renewal of the adjacent shop within her ownership and will further improve the investment value of the property.”
