Here is the scenario, you receive your Business Rates demand from your local authority, you automatically assume it is correct so make the appropriate payments whether it is a lump sum or a direct debit throughout the year.  This is what rate payers do throughout the country. 

In the past two months however, FHP have on behalf of clients noticed inaccuracies in the way their bills have been put together which resulted in overcharging.  This is not a question of whether the rateable value is correct or not but simply a case that errors in the way the rates demand had been put together and occupiers are being unwittingly over charged.

In each instance, FHP were able to contact the Local Authority concerned and correct rate demands have now been served.
