Manchester based bookmakers, Betfred, have retained FHP to acquire new branches for the company throughout the East Midlands, West Midlands, Yorkshire and East Anglia regions.
Betfred are the country’s largest independent bookmaker with an annual turnover of £3.5 billion trading from over 850 branches and aiming to have 900 shops open by 2011.
Mark Bradley, who is handling the instruction, commented:-
“I have enjoyed a long association with Betfred over several years assisting with their acquisition programme and I am delighted to be involved with the continuing expansion programme throughout the Midlands region.
The relaxation of the gaming legislation in 2007 has opened up more opportunities for bookmakers to compete with each other in High Street locations and the consolidation within the financial services industry is resulting in a greater number of properties with A2 consent coming onto the market. These two factors are the rationale behind the drive for more new branches.”
Details of suitable properties with a minimum sales area of 1,000ft² with A2 planning consent or the prospect of obtaining such consent should be forwarded to Mark Bradley email markb@fhp.co.uk, telephone 01332 224852.
