Already one of Castlewood’s major occupiers, Clowes Developments are delighted to announce that contracts have been exchanged with Alloga UK Limited – a member of Walgreens Boots Alliance for the construction of a further distribution facility for them on site of 220,000ft². Work is anticipated to start in the next few weeks with practical completion due in Q4 2016.
Wholly owned and developed by Clowes Developments, Castlewood is one of the East Midlands distribution success stories. Totalling over 120 acres, the site already has over 1,000,000ft² constructed, including the existing facility for Alloga of 220,000ft² augmented by other household names such as the Co-op and Bombardier amongst others.
The latest deal will see on a plot adjoining Alloga’s current base a further distribution facility of 220,000ft² constructed as Alloga’s business progresses from strength to strength.
Development Director of Clowes Developments, James Richards, commented:
“I am delighted to be able to announce this latest success at Castlewood and it gives me particular pleasure to see Alloga UK taking further space, confirming our shared thoughts that Castlewood is the prime distribution destination throughout the East Midlands benefitting from immediate access to Junction 28 of the M1 and the A38. Having only completed their original 220,000ft² unit a couple of years ago, to see their growth and expansion is thrilling and satisfying as we now embark upon the latest phase of their expansion and construct a new 220,000ft² facility.
Castlewood has been a hive of activity in recent time with a new unit of 100,000ft² for Parker Knoll due for practical completion in the next few weeks and work starting on site for a 30,000ft² unit for a local transport company.
We then have further deals in solicitor’s hands and look forward to announcing additional occupiers to the site in the coming weeks and months.
Still however, with 50 acres of land left for industrial, distribution or office use we would welcome engaging with any other local, regional or national companies seeking to relocate to the East Midlands prime distribution and manufacturing location.”
Chris Williams of Alloga UK commented:
“We are delighted to have concluded the design, planning and legal phases of this exciting project and look forward to working with the team at Clowes Developments on the building phase. The great facilities and prominent location of the Castlewood Business Park were important factors in our property development strategy and once complete this development will further enhance our ability to provide innovative solutions and services for our customers.”
Agents for the scheme are Tim Gilbertson of FHP and Ranjit Gill of Savills and for any parties wishing to discuss Castlewood and how they can provide their company with an ideal base for growth and expansion the agents would be delighted to meet and consider at any time.
Heather Dixon of Geldards has advised Clowes Developments throughout this and all transactions on Castlewood Business Park.
